Yep, I’m human, designing for humans.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had a passion for creativity and found that my best work comes when I collaborate with others. In high school, I took a graphic design class and instantly fell in love with systems thinking and the concept of digital art.
I graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Marketing. While studying, I was growing my design skills on the side with any projects I could get my hands on: brand design, digital illustrations, animation, print design, editorial design, even the dreaded powerpoint design– yuck. Studying marketing opened my eyes to creative thinking and critical reasoning, and positioned me to become a problem solver rooted in design.
Why product design?
I was introduced to the concept of Product Design in my first job out of college and became fascinated with the connection between problem-solving and design aesthetics. I’ve gathered that UX design is a practice that aligns with my passion for digital creativity, while helping solve real-world problems. This year, I’m eager to expand my knowledge of motion design and interested in improving my working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
What about my personal life?
When I’m not behind the keyboard with an ice coffee, I spend the majority of my time playing outside. Living in ‘Sunny San Diego’, I am often biking, running, rollerblading, or surfing. I am a college football fanatic (go Utah Utes) and love discovering new music that I can bop my head to. I ultimately enjoy connecting with others and sharing memorable experiences. I’m looking forward to seeing what future design challenges come my way!
